Notifications aren't showing on your lock screen
Your lock screen is set to hide notifications. Go to Settings → Display → Lock screen, find Notifications, and turn on Show notifications or Show all content. This shows your messages on the lock screen again.
Android's lock screen has separate notification settings from your main notifications. Your phone can be receiving notifications but blocking them from showing when your screen is locked. This is a privacy feature — you can show all notifications, hide sensitive content, or show a count only.

Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Turning on notifications in the app settings but forgetting that lock screen notifications need a separate setting. The two are independent.
- Setting lock screen notifications to Count only instead of Show all content. This shows a number badge but not the actual message.
- Not checking per-app settings. Some apps hide their notifications on the lock screen even when lock screen notifications are enabled.
Signs you need professional help
- If you've turned on lock screen notifications and set it to show all content but still nothing appears, get in touch — your lock screen might be using a custom app that we need to disable.
