Your Android screen turns off too quickly
Your screen timeout is set too short. Go to Settings → Display → Screen Timeout and change it to 5 or 10 minutes. If Battery Saver mode is on, that overrides your setting — turn that off first.
Screen timeout tells your phone when to turn off the display if you haven't touched it. When this is set to 15 or 30 seconds, your screen goes dark before you finish reading. Changing it to 5-10 minutes gives you time to read, watch, or use apps without interruption.
- ✓Access to Settings and Display menu
- ✓Know that 5-10 minutes is a reasonable timeout for reading and watching
- ✓Have 2-3 minutes to check Battery Saver mode and adjust the timeout

- Confusing screen dimming with screen timeout — a very dim screen looks off but it's just very dark. The timeout is working correctly.
- Not realizing Battery Saver is on — when you turn it off, the real timeout setting finally takes effect
