How to transfer your eSIM to a new Android phone
eSIM transfers happen in two ways. Either your carrier does it for you, or you do it yourself through your phone. Call your mobile carrier first and ask them to transfer your eSIM. If they can't, you can do it yourself in Settings by asking your old phone to send a code that your new phone can use.
An eSIM is a digital version of your mobile service. When you switch phones, your carrier has two ways to move it. They can transfer it on their end without you doing anything, or they can send you a code that lets you activate it on your new phone. Most carriers prefer doing it themselves.
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Trying to transfer without contacting the carrier first. Most require approval
- Removing the eSIM too soon. Keep it on your old phone until the transfer is confirmed
- Not waiting long enough for the new phone to activate. It can take 5-10 minutes
Signs you need professional help
- If the carrier transferred the eSIM but your new phone still shows 'No Service' after 10 minutes, or if the QR code doesn't work, get in touch and we can help contact your carrier for a replacement code.
