Contactless payment not working on Android
Contactless payments need three things: NFC turned on, a verified card in Google Pay, and a compatible terminal. Start by checking if NFC is enabled in Settings, then check your card is set up in Google Pay.
Contactless payment fails for a few predictable reasons: NFC is disabled, your card isn't properly set up in Google Pay, the card isn't checked with your bank, or the terminal doesn't support NFC. Enabling NFC, checking your card, and testing at a different terminal fixes it quickly. Not all payment terminals support NFC, even though they look modern.
- ✓Check if NFC is on: Go to Settings and search for 'NFC'. You should see a toggle that's blue or says ON
- ✓Open Google Pay and make sure at least one card is listed
- ✓Ask the cashier if their terminal supports tap-to-pay or contactless payments
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
