Custom ringtone not playing, keeps reverting to default

Custom ringtones must be stored in the Ringtones folder and in MP3 format. If your file is elsewhere or in a format like M4A or OGG, your phone won't use it. Move the file to the Ringtones folder and make sure it's MP3 — that fixes most custom ringtone problems.

Android looks for ringtones in specific folders. If your audio file is in the wrong location or unsupported format, your phone can't find it and falls back to default. We'll move the file to the right folder, check the format, and set it again.
