Controller buttons not responding or registering presses
This is a wireless connection problem or the controller needs a restart. Unplug your console from power, hold the power button on the controller for 10 seconds, plug the console back in, and reconnect the controller. This fixes it.
When a controller button doesn't register, the signal between your controller and console either isn't getting through, or the controller's memory needs clearing. Sometimes it's just a loose connection. Restarting both the controller and console will fix it. If buttons still don't work after that, the button itself is stuck or damaged.
- ✓Have your console and controller both turned on and nearby
- ✓Make sure the controller battery is at least partially charged before starting
- ✓Keep a game or menu open that you can navigate through to test buttons
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
