AirDrop isn't working, files won't transfer between devices
AirDrop needs both Bluetooth and WiFi on at the same time, both devices on the same WiFi network, and both signed into the same Apple ID. Toggle both connections off and back on, then try again. This fixes most cases in under 2 minutes.
AirDrop uses Bluetooth to find devices and WiFi to send the files between them. If either one drops, if the privacy settings are too strict, or if your Macs aren't signed into the same Apple ID, files won't transfer. The quickest fix is to refresh your connections and check your privacy settings.
- ✓Make sure Bluetooth is on on both devices
- ✓Make sure WiFi is on on both devices
- ✓Make sure both devices are on the same WiFi network
