USB-C hub or adapter not working with your Mac

Your USB-C hub needs power, can need a driver update, or the cable is loose. Make sure the hub is plugged into power, check that the USB-C cable is firmly connected to your Mac, and restart your Mac if needed.

USB-C hubs don't work when they're not getting enough power, the cable is loose, the driver needs restarting, or the hub isn't supported by your Mac. We'll check the power connection, make sure the cable is secure, and restart if needed.

  • Make sure your USB-C hub is plugged into power if it requires external power
  • Make sure the USB-C cable is firmly plugged into both your Mac and the hub
  • Check that your Mac's USB-C port isn't damaged or blocked
  • Make sure devices are firmly plugged into the hub ports
