Mac battery won't charge past 80 percent
Apple turned on battery health management on your Mac to protect your battery. This limits charging to 80% when you're plugged in. Go to System Settings → General → Battery to check if Health Management is enabled. You can turn it off if you need to charge to 100%.
If your Mac is plugged in all the time, your battery stays at 100% and ages faster. Apple added a feature called Battery Health Management that stops charging at 80% to slow aging. If you want to charge to 100% for travel, you can turn it off temporarily. Leaving it on protects your battery for the long term.
- ✓Check System Settings → General → Battery for Battery Health Management
