Mac startup disk is almost full

Your Mac storage is nearly full. Delete unnecessary files from your Downloads folder and empty Trash to free up space immediately. Aim to keep at least 20–30 GB free for your Mac to run smoothly.

Your Mac needs free space to work properly. When storage is almost full, it can't cache data, install updates, or create temporary files. This causes slowdowns and errors. The most common space users are large files like movies and backups, old apps, and your Downloads folder.
