Modem lights flashing but no internet connection

Your modem is trying to sync but something is in the way. Restart it by unplugging for 30 seconds — if lights still flash, check cables or call your ISP.

Flashing lights mean the modem is working hard but struggling to connect to your internet service. This is a loose cable, a temporary glitch, or an issue on your provider's end. We will restart the modem and check the cables first.

  • Check that the coaxial cable from the wall is firmly connected to the modem
  • Inspect the coaxial cable for damage, bends, or kinks
  • Know whether other people in your area are reporting an internet outage
