Mesh WiFi firmware update failed on one or more nodes
Failed mesh updates can be fixed by restarting the units that didn't update. Unplug the failed unit for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and let it rejoin the network. It will download the firmware again automatically.
Mesh WiFi firmware updates happen automatically and sometimes a unit loses internet connection mid-update, leaving it stuck. The good news is these units are built to handle this. A simple restart tells the system to try the update again. If a unit still won't come back online after a restart, there can be a connection issue or the unit itself needs help.
- ✓Check the app. Which units show as offline or failed?
- ✓Are those units plugged in and getting power?
- ✓Has it been more than 30 minutes since the update started?

Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Unplugging units during an update thinking it will make it faster. This is what causes the failure
- Not waiting long enough for the update to complete after a restart. Firmware updates take 3-5 minutes
- Trying to manually trigger another update instead of letting the unit retry on its own
- Placing the unit in a spot with poor WiFi signal, then wondering why the update fails again
Signs you need professional help
- If the unit won't come back online after three restart attempts, or if the app shows the unit is online but keeps trying to update and failing, or if the unit's light is solid red or orange and won't change, get in touch and we'll help.
