Websites are loading but showing fake pages instead of the real site

Someone has hijacked your router's DNS settings to redirect you to fake websites. This is serious. We'll reset your DNS back to normal and you must change your router password immediately.

DNS hijacking happens when someone breaks into your router and changes the DNS settings. DNS is the system that translates website names into addresses. When hijacked, your router sends you to fake websites designed to steal passwords or infect your computer. This needs immediate action.

  • Make sure you have the admin password so you can access your router's settings page
  • Have your router's login information ready — the IP address is on the sticker on the back of your router
