Your smart home camera keeps going offline

Your camera is losing its WiFi connection because the signal is too weak or something else is interfering with it. Move the camera closer to your router or add a WiFi extender in the middle. If that doesn't work, restart your camera and router together.

Smart cameras need a strong WiFi signal to stay online. When the signal is weak, the camera drops the connection and has to reconnect. Which takes several minutes. The three main causes are WiFi signal too far away, too many devices competing for the connection, or interference from other electronics. A stronger signal fixes it.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check how far the camera is from your WiFi router. If it's more than 30 feet away, that's the problem
  • Look at the camera's light indicator. If it's red or flashing, it's losing connection
  • Check your router. Is it turned on and showing a strong WiFi signal?
  • Count how many WiFi devices are connected right now. The more devices, the weaker the signal for each one
