Smart plug is not responding in the app
A smart plug that is offline in the app has lost its WiFi connection to your router. Unplugging it, plugging it back in, and letting it reconnect to WiFi fixes it for most people.
When your smart plug is unresponsive in the app, it means the plug has lost its WiFi connection to your router. The plug itself is probably fine, but it cannot communicate with your phone or the app. We will restart the plug, make sure it reconnects to WiFi, and try controlling it again.
- ✓Have the smart plug's power outlet and your phone with the smart home app ready
- ✓Make sure your WiFi network is working and other devices can connect
- ✓Know your WiFi network name and password if the plug needs to be reconnected
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Not waiting long enough after unplugging — the plug needs 2–3 minutes to fully reconnect after restarting.
- Assuming the WiFi is fine when the plug keeps dropping — if other devices are also having connection issues, your router may need to be restarted.
- Plugging the smart plug into a power strip instead of directly into the wall outlet — some power strips do not provide stable power to smart devices.
