The app can't find your new smart home device during setup

your computer isn't connecting to WiFi or the app can't see it yet. First, restart your computer by turning it off for 10 seconds then back on. If the app still isn't found after 2 minutes, you need to be closer to your computer with your phone during setup.

When you first set up a smart device, it needs to do three things: turn on, connect to your WiFi, and show up in the app. If any one of these fails, the app won't find it. Your computer light tells you what's happening. A solid green light means it's ready, a red or flashing light means it's having trouble.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check your computer power light. Green or white means it's on, red or off means it has no power
  • Check how far your phone is from your computer. If you're more than 15 feet away, the app can't see it
  • Confirm your computer is in setup mode. It should have a light blinking or changing color
  • Make sure your phone is on the same WiFi network you want your computer to join
