Your voice assistant isn't responding to commands

Your smart speaker has lost WiFi connection or the microphone is muted. Check that the speaker is plugged in and connected to WiFi. You should see a solid light or no light at all, not a red light. If there's a mute button on top of the speaker, make sure it's not pressed in.

Smart speakers need two things to work: power and an internet connection. Without WiFi, the speaker can't reach the servers that understand your voice and send back answers. If the speaker is muted, it won't listen to anything you say no matter what. The quickest fixes are checking that the speaker is connected to WiFi and that the microphone isn't muted.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check that the speaker is plugged in. Look for a solid light or no light at all, not a red light
  • Check that the mute button on top of the speaker is not pressed. It should pop out slightly when unmuted
  • Check that your WiFi is working. Try opening a website on your phone to make sure you have internet
