Wrong smart speaker or device responding to voice commands

Multiple smart speakers are close enough to hear the same voice command and both responding. Either move them farther apart, give them different room names in the app so you can address them by location, or turn off voice activation on the speakers you don't want responding.

When multiple smart speakers are near each other and hear the same voice command, they all try to respond at the same time or the closest one responds first. The app has settings to control this. you can assign speakers to specific rooms, use full wake words with room names, or disable voice activation on speakers you don't want responding to nearby commands.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check if both speakers are set to the same room name in the app. they should have different room names
  • Check how far apart the two speakers are. if they're very close, one will always hear the command meant for the other
  • Check if both speakers have voice activation turned on. maybe you only need it on one
  • Check if you're using the speaker's full name or just the wake word when you give commands
