Your voice assistant says it can't find or control your smart devices

A voice assistant that can't find your devices means your devices aren't linked to the voice assistant's account, or they're not set up in the voice assistant's app. Open the voice assistant's app on your phone, go to Devices or Add Device, and add your smart devices to it. Once they're added, say your computer name to control it and the voice assistant will recognize it.

Voice assistants like Alexa, Google Home, and Siri control devices by finding them in a linked account. If the voice assistant says it can't find your device, your computer either isn't added to the voice assistant's app at all, or the app that created your computer isn't linked to your voice assistant's account. We'll check if your devices are added to the voice assistant's app, and if the app that controls them is linked. Once they're all connected, voice control will work immediately.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check if your computer is added to the voice assistant's app. Open the app and look in Devices or Settings to see the list
  • Check if your computer works in its own app. If your computer is offline there too, the problem is your computer's WiFi, not the voice assistant
  • Check if the voice assistant app is signed into the same account as your devices. If you have two different accounts, the apps can't see each other
