Microsoft Teams status stuck on Away or Busy
Teams sets your status to Away when it thinks you're inactive, even if you're still at your desk. Click your profile picture at the top of Teams and change your status to Available right away. If it keeps switching, you need to restart the app.
Teams tracks when you're actively using your keyboard and mouse. If you go quiet for a few minutes, Teams assumes you stepped away and switches to Away. If you're on a call or screen-sharing, it shows Busy. Sometimes this tracking gets confused and leaves you stuck on Away or Busy.
- ✓Check your profile picture in the top right corner to see what status it shows
- ✓Look for a small dot next to your name. Green means Available, yellow means Away, red means Busy
