Your Gmail filter isn't automatically sorting emails
Gmail filters only apply to new emails after you create the filter. They don't retroactively sort old emails. Make sure the filter criteria is correct, and manually apply it to existing emails if needed.
Gmail filters automatically sort incoming emails into labels or archives. Filters only work on new messages after you create them, not old ones. If a filter isn't working, either the criteria is too broad or too narrow, or you need to manually archive existing messages.
- ✓Make sure the filter is actually enabled (turned on) in Settings
- ✓Make sure the filter criteria matches what you intended
- ✓Test with a new email that should match the filter
- ✓Remember filters only apply to new emails, not existing ones
