- ✓Make sure you have a backup or older version of the file. If you do, try opening that instead.
- ✓Make sure the file is on your computer or on a shared network drive. Files on network drives are more prone to corruption.
- ✓Make sure the file size is very small (less than 1 KB). Small files can be empty or the actual file failed to save.
- ✓Make sure renaming the file helps. Sometimes Excel gets confused by the file extension.
