Browser is using too much RAM

Close unused tabs and browser windows. Each tab uses memory. If that doesn't help, disable extensions or restart the browser completely.

Browsers use lots of RAM because you have many tabs open, extensions are running, or memory is leaking from a specific site. Closing tabs is the fastest fix. Restarting the browser clears all memory.

  • Check how much RAM your browser is using in Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac)
  • Make sure the problem goes away when you close the browser
