There's an echo on your Zoom calls and everyone can hear themselves

An echo in Zoom means your speaker and microphone are too close together or your microphone is picking up sound from your speakers. The quickest fix is to turn on Zoom's echo cancellation setting and mute yourself when you're not talking. If you're using external speakers, try moving your microphone away from them or switching to a headset.

When your microphone picks up sound from your speakers, Zoom sends that sound back to the other people in the call. They hear their own words echoing back. This happens when your speaker and microphone are too close together or your microphone is very sensitive. Turning on Zoom's automatic echo cancellation fixes it and muting yourself when you're not talking stops it happening at all.
