TV screen flashing different colours randomly
Screen flashing comes from a loose HDMI cable, a failing backlight, or interference from a nearby device. Start by checking and reseating every HDMI cable. Push them in firmly until they click. If that does not fix it and your TV is more than 5 years old, the backlight is failing.
When your display flashes colours or goes black, it means either the cable connection is loose, there is electrical interference, or your TV's internal display is starting to fail. A loose HDMI cable is the most common fix and takes 10 seconds. If every cable is tight and your TV is older, the backlight or display panel is wearing out.

- Only checking the HDMI cable on one end. You need to make sure both connections click and are secure
- Not realizing that a cordless phone or router nearby can cause flashing. Interference is commonly overlooked
- Thinking your TV is broken when it just needs a cable replaced. Bad cables are cheap
