What is a factory reset and when should you do one?

A factory reset erases everything on your TV and puts it back to like-new condition from the factory. All apps, passwords, and personal settings disappear. Only do this when selling the TV, giving it away, or if a technician specifically tells you to.

A factory reset wipes all data from your TV and returns it to the original state it came from the factory. All apps, logins, WiFi passwords, and settings permanently disappear. Your TV becomes like it just came out of the box. After a reset, you go through the full setup process again — choosing WiFi, signing into accounts, and reinstalling apps.
