Your smartwatch isn't tracking your sleep properly

Your watch needs to be snug on your wrist and have a clean sensor for sleep tracking to work. Tighten the band, check that the metal contacts on the back are clean, and make sure the watch battery has at least 20% charge before bed. If sleep tracking still doesn't work after that, the sensor is likely failing.

Sleep tracking works because your watch has sensors that detect movement and your wrist's skin temperature. When the band is loose or the sensors are dirty, it can't read these signals properly. So the watch thinks you're awake or doesn't detect sleep at all. These three quick fixes work: tighten the band, clean the sensor, and charge the battery fully before bed.
