Locked out of Windows because your PIN isn't working

Your PIN may have been reset by a Windows update or other issue. Try signing in with your password instead of your PIN. If that works, you can create a new PIN from Settings.

A PIN is a quick way to sign in to Windows without typing your full password. If your PIN stops working, it means Windows lost track of it, or it got reset during an update. The good news is you very likely have a password as a backup. If you can't remember that either, Windows has recovery options built in.
