Your Bluetooth mouse keeps disconnecting and reconnecting

Windows power management is putting your Bluetooth adapter to sleep to save power. Turn off this power-saving feature in Device Manager and the disconnections will stop immediately.

Windows tries to save battery power by putting your Bluetooth adapter to sleep when you're not using it. When the adapter goes to sleep, your mouse loses connection. Disabling this power-saving feature fixes it.

  • Check your mouse battery level. If it's below 20%, replace or charge it because low batteries drop connection before they die.
  • If you're using an external Bluetooth dongle, try plugging it into a different USB port, preferably one that's not surrounded by other USB devices.
  • Check if disconnections happen at regular intervals like every minute or every 2 minutes. If yes, it's a power-saving issue.
