External monitor not detected or not showing up

Windows usually detects monitors instantly, so if it's not showing, the cable is loose, the input is wrong, or the driver needs updating. We'll reseat the cable, check the monitor input, and update display drivers.

External monitors communicate with your laptop through HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, or VGA cables. If Windows doesn't detect the monitor, it's usually because: the cable is loose, the monitor is set to the wrong input, the port on your laptop is disabled, or the display driver needs updating. We'll check all of these.
