Laptop won't wake up from sleep mode
Your laptop's wake settings are probably disabled or a driver issue is stopping the keyboard and mouse from waking it. We'll enable wake devices in Power Settings and update drivers if needed.
Windows laptops can be set to ignore certain devices when waking from sleep — a feature meant to stop accidental wake-ups, but sometimes it's too aggressive. We'll re-enable the keyboard, touchpad, and power button as wake devices so your laptop responds to them again.
- ✓Have your laptop plugged in to power so it stays on while we change settings
- ✓Be ready to restart your laptop once to apply changes
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Assuming the laptop is completely frozen when it's really in sleep — it's just not responding to wake signals
- Only checking one device for wake capability — check both keyboard and mouse/touchpad
- Forgetting to apply settings — clicking OK in Power Settings must be followed by a restart
Signs you need professional help
- If your laptop still won't wake after enabling all these settings and updating drivers, the issue may be with the motherboard or a hardware-level power management problem. Get in touch and we'll check if hardware repair is needed.
