Windows clock showing wrong time or date

A wrong system clock is usually because automatic time sync is turned off, your CMOS battery is dying, or your timezone is set incorrectly. Turning on automatic time sync fixes it instantly in most cases.

Windows gets the current time from either the internet (via internet time servers) or from a battery inside your computer (CMOS battery). When the clock is wrong, it means one of these sources has a problem. We'll turn on automatic sync first, then check your timezone if needed.
