Files disappear from your desktop after restarting
Your desktop files aren't really gone. Windows loaded a temporary profile by mistake, or OneDrive moved your desktop files to the cloud. Both are fixable in about 10 minutes.
When desktop files vanish after a restart, Windows either logged you into a temporary profile instead of your real one, or OneDrive synced your desktop folder to the cloud. Your files are still there — they're just in a different place. We'll find them and bring them back.

- Saving new files to the desktop while using a temporary profile. They'll disappear again on the next restart. Always sign in properly first.
- Deleting the TEMP folder without copying your files out first. You cannot undo that.
Signs you need professional help
