WiFi works on some devices but not others

The router's security type probably changed and your older device doesn't support it. Change the router from WPA3 to WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode. This lets old devices connect.

Newer routers use WPA3 security but older devices only know WPA2. Your router is set to WPA3-only, so newer devices connect but older ones can't. Changing the router to mixed mode lets both work.

  • List which devices work and which don't. Are the ones that don't work older?
  • Check if your failing device is old and only supports 2.4 GHz band
