How can you tell if you're talking to a bot or a real person?

Bots respond instantly to everything, never get confused, always stay on topic, and never admit mistakes or ask you to repeat yourself. Real people respond after delays, ask clarifying questions, go off on tangents, and get tired. The easiest test: ask an unexpected question about something the bot doesn't have an answer for.

Modern AI chatbots can fool you into thinking you're talking to a real person — they respond naturally, acknowledge what you say, and stay focused. But real humans have patterns that bots still struggle with. Real support agents take time to respond (they're handling multiple chats), sometimes misunderstand you and ask you to rephrase, admit when they don't know something, and occasionally slip up or go off-topic. Bots respond instantly, rarely ask for clarification, never say 'I don't know' (they just make something up), and always stay perfectly on message. The simplest way to tell: ask something unexpected that a bot wouldn't have a canned answer for.
