Parental content restrictions not blocking inappropriate apps
Parental restrictions require a strong PIN that can't be guessed and Digital Wellbeing needs to be fully turned on. Set a secure PIN only you know, set the content rating for your child's age, and confirm Digital Wellbeing is controlling the app store.
Android parental controls have two parts: content filters in the Play Store and app restrictions in Digital Wellbeing. If either isn't set up correctly, kids can bypass them. We'll check both are configured and your PIN is actually protecting the settings.
- ✓Know which apps or content levels you want to restrict
- ✓Have a strong PIN or password in mind (not your child's birthday or easy numbers)
- ✓Know your child's age so you can set the right content rating
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Setting content ratings in Play Store but forgetting to turn on the parental controls toggle
- Using a PIN that's too short or obvious (like 1234 or 0000)
- Only setting app restrictions without also setting content ratings
