Google Assistant won't respond when you say Hey Google
The hotword detection is most likely turned off in Google Assistant settings. Turning it back on takes 30 seconds and fixes it for almost everyone.
Google Assistant listens for the words Hey Google using a feature called hotword detection. When it stops responding to those words, the hotword has been turned off accidentally or disabled by a system setting. We'll turn it back on and make sure your phone is set up to listen.
