Samsung Bixby keeps turning back on when you disable it
Bixby has separate settings for the button and the voice assistant. You need to disable both the Bixby button and block the app from running in the background. Go to Settings → Apps → Bixby and turn off all notifications and background activity, then go to Bixby Settings and disable the Bixby button.
Bixby has multiple ways to activate — the physical button on your phone, voice commands, and background shortcuts. Turning off one doesn't disable the others. You need to disable the button specifically, prevent the app from running in the background, and turn off voice activation all together.
- ✓Have access to your phone's Settings app
- ✓Know where the Bixby button is (usually on the left side of your Samsung phone)
- ✓Be ready to go into the Bixby app settings
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Only disabling Bixby voice assistant without disabling the physical button. The button can still launch Bixby even if voice commands are off.
- Not checking if Bixby has background activity enabled. Restricting background activity is just as important as disabling the button.
- Thinking Bixby is broken when you just need to remap the button to something else instead of disabling it completely.
Signs you need professional help
- If you've disabled the Bixby button, voice activation, and background activity but Bixby still launches randomly, get in touch — there may be a deeper setting or the app may need reinstalling.
