Find My iPhone not updating location or showing wrong location

Find My updates your location through a mix of GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth. When it stops updating, the problem is that Location Services is off or Find My does not have permission to see your location. Turn Location Services back on and make sure Find My has permission. This fixes it instantly.

Find My relies on your phone knowing where it is in the world. GPS, WiFi, and mobile networks all help it figure that out. When location is off, restricted, or not shared, Find My has nothing to show. We will turn on Location Services, grant Find My permission to see your location, and make sure your phone is sharing that location.
