Screen Time limits not blocking apps on iPhone

Screen Time limits fail because the Screen Time feature is not fully set up or the person using the phone has the passcode to override it. You need both a Screen Time passcode and proper limits configured. Set those up correctly and the limits will be enforced.

Screen Time is a powerful tool for managing how much time you or a family member spends on the phone. But it only works if you set a Screen Time passcode that is different from your regular unlock passcode, and if you choose the right type of limit. We will check your setup and fix any missing pieces.

⚡ Before you start
  • Check that Screen Time is actually turned on - go to Settings → Screen Time and look for the toggle
  • Check that a Screen Time passcode is set - if you do not see a passcode field, Screen Time is not fully activated
  • Check that the Screen Time passcode is different from your unlock passcode - this matters for enforcement
  • Check what type of limit you set - App Limits and Downtime are different and work differently

Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
