Siri isn't responding or understanding what you say
Siri needs a working microphone, internet connection, and Siri enabled. First, check that Siri is actually turned on in Settings. Then check that the microphone isn't blocked and that you're connected to WiFi or cellular.
Siri relies on your microphone to hear you and internet to understand what you say. If the microphone is muted, blocked, or not working, Siri can't hear anything. If Siri is disabled, turned off, or your internet is down, it won't respond. It's one of these three things, and restarting your phone fixes it.
- ✓Check that Siri is enabled in Settings → Siri & Search before starting
- ✓Make sure the Ring/Silent switch on the left side of your iPhone is in the OFF (gray) position
- ✓Check that you have WiFi or cellular data connected
- ✓Be ready to speak clearly and at normal volume into your iPhone
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.

Signs you need professional help
- Siri activates but your microphone produces no sound. The microphone is probably damaged. You've checked everything and Siri still doesn't respond after restarting your iPhone. Siri works for other people on your WiFi but not for you.
