Music app plays but makes no sound
Either the volume is muted with a physical switch, turned all the way down, or the audio output is going to the wrong place. Check the mute switch and volume buttons first.
When the music app plays silently, something is blocking the audio — either the mute switch is on, the volume is at zero, or the audio is routing to a different device. We'll check these things and make sure the speaker is being used.

- Not realizing the mute switch silences the entire phone including music — people assume it's just for calls.
- Thinking the app's internal volume (if it has one) is connected to the phone's system volume — they're separate.
