Mail app not loading new emails

The Mail app either lost its internet connection or the mail server connection timed out. Checking your WiFi, force-closing and reopening the app, and refreshing the inbox fixes this for most people.

When the Mail app won't load new emails, it's for most people because the connection to the mail server is stuck or broken. We'll check your internet connection, refresh the app, and make sure the mail account is properly connected.

  • Make sure your iPhone is connected to WiFi or has cellular data turned on
  • If on WiFi, move closer to the router to make sure the signal is strong
  • Have your email password ready — you may need to re-enter it
