eSIM says No Service after an iOS update
iOS updates sometimes reset eSIM connections. The fix is to restart your phone and let the eSIM reconnect to the network. If that doesn't work in 5 minutes, turn on Airplane Mode, wait 10 seconds, then turn it off.
iOS updates can temporarily disconnect your eSIM from your carrier's network. Your eSIM is still there and still valid. Your phone just needs to reconnect to the signal. A restart is the quickest way to do that. If the carrier network is busy or having issues, the reconnection can take a few minutes after the restart.
- ✓Have your iPhone with the recent iOS update already installed
- ✓Stay in one location while troubleshooting instead of moving around
- ✓Keep your phone unlocked and available
- ✓Have your carrier's customer service number available

Skip, I just want a technicianCommon mistakes to avoid
- Not waiting long enough after restart. eSIM reconnection takes longer than WiFi, sometimes up to 2 minutes
- Checking your eSIM settings before restarting. Settings can't fix this, only a restart can
- Trying multiple carriers without waiting between each try. This confuses the phone. Restart instead
Signs you need professional help
- You've restarted, waited a full 2 minutes, used Airplane Mode, and still see No Service. Call your carrier and they'll check if the eSIM needs reactivation on their end.
