Messages sending as green text instead of blue iMessage

Green messages mean iMessage is turned off or not available. Turn it on in Settings → Messages. If you're messaging an Android user, green SMS is correct. Android doesn't support iMessage.

iMessage (blue messages) works over internet through WiFi or cellular data. When iMessage isn't available, your iPhone automatically falls back to SMS (green messages), which work like regular text messages. Green messages to Android phones are normal. Turn iMessage on in Settings if you want blue messages to iPhone users.
