Screen recording on iPhone captures video but no system audio
Check the mute switch on the side of your phone. If you see a red or orange stripe, flip it up to turn off Silent mode. Then try recording again. If that doesn't work, long-press the Screen Record button and make sure Microphone Audio is turned on.
Screen recording has two audio sources: Microphone Audio (your voice) and System Audio (sounds from your phone). Microphone Audio is on by default, but System Audio only records when your phone isn't in Silent mode. If you're recording but getting silence, either Microphone Audio is off or your phone is in Silent mode.
- ✓Know where the mute switch is on the left side of your iPhone
- ✓Understand that Silent mode is different from volume level
- ✓Have Control Centre ready to access the recording options
