Face ID not recognizing you with a mask or sunglasses
Face ID works best when it can see most of your face. A mask, heavy sunglasses, or certain glasses block too much of the area Face ID needs to see. iOS has a feature to recognize you with a mask if you wear glasses. try that first. If Face ID still won't work, use your passcode instead.
Face ID recognizes your unique facial features, but masks, sunglasses, and certain glasses cover too much of your face for it to work. The good news is iOS has Face ID with a Mask mode that works if you wear glasses over the mask. If that doesn't help, you can set up Face ID to recognize you without the mask or just use your passcode when you're covered up.
