Photos are missing or disappeared from iPhone
Check the Recently Deleted album first. Deleted photos sit there for 30 days before permanent removal. If you find them there, tap Recover to get them back. If not, they can be in iCloud but just not downloaded to your phone yet.
Photos disappear for a few reasons: they're in Recently Deleted waiting to be permanently deleted, they're in iCloud but just not downloaded to your phone, they're temporarily hidden while iCloud is syncing, or they're filtered out by search settings. Most disappearances are not permanent. You have 30 days to recover them.
- ✓Are the photos in the Recently Deleted album?
- ✓Is iCloud Photos enabled? Check Settings → your name at the top of the screen → iCloud → Photos
- ✓When did the photos disappear. After an update, sync, or specific action?
- ✓Do any photos show a cloud icon (meaning they're in iCloud)?
Fix-IT-Bot will walk you through each step, just tap, no typing needed.
