iOS update fails because your iPhone doesn't have enough storage

Your iPhone needs 2-3GB of free space to update iOS, not including the update file itself. Delete old videos and unused apps, then try updating again. Once the update finishes, you'll have more free space than before.

iOS updates are large. Several gigabytes. And your iPhone needs not just space for the file, but extra temporary space to prepare the system. It's like needing space on a shelf to rearrange books before putting them back. When storage is nearly full, there's no room for the temporary files. The good news: once the update completes, you'll actually have more space available.
