App can't be opened because the developer can't be verified

This is macOS protecting you — Gatekeeper checks that apps are signed by trusted developers. If you downloaded the app from a trusted source, it's safe. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and you'll see an 'Open Anyway' button next to the app name.

Gatekeeper is macOS's security feature that checks whether apps come from trusted developers before letting you run them. If an app isn't officially signed or the developer isn't in Apple's database, macOS blocks it. This is a safety feature, but if you downloaded the app from a company you trust, it's safe to override.
